What is sports medicine?
Sports medicine encompasses the physical realm of medicine. With a focus on overall physical fitness, prevention, and rehabilitation of orthopedic and athletic injuries. As an athletic trainer it is my primary goal to work on injury prevention through strength training with all of my clients. Injury prevention includes balance training, working on mechanics, decreasing compensations to decrease risk of injury, and postural restoration.
